NEW! Royal Regiment of Scotland kilt for sale
Comrades,
I purchased a Royal Regiment of Scotland kilt and it arrived yesterday from Co. Antrim (NI). It is the kilt currently in use and is MoD issue. It's gorgeous and very sturdy but, sadly, doesn't fit me. I wish it did! It has roll-pleats (which are still sown down), stury black buckles, nice leather straps. I paid $300 for the kilt and international shipping so I'm asking for a "best offer" and I'll ship anywhere in the USA at no cost to you.

Measurements:
Height = 176 cm
Waist = 88 cm
Breech = 104 cm
** The basting stitches were in until a few nights ago. I returned from work and my lovely bride had taken them out, saying, "Let's see you in this properly before you sell it." I then reminded her that it didn't really matter since it didn't fit me properly anyway. **
Regards,
Jonathan

I was just wondering how far off fitting your kilt is. Perhaps it could be made to fit so you don't have to sell it. I have one of these kilts and I certainly wouldn't want to sell it if I didn't have to.

Hi there,
The kilt, when sitting properly, is still a good inch or two too long. Part of the issue is that I'm a bit shorter than I should be to wear this kilt properly. Like you said, it's a hard decision because -- in my beginner ignorance -- I think, "sure, we could chop off an inch or two from the bottom". The reality is that would be difficult to do well and the kilt is so lovely as-is ... I'd rather sell it to someone who it WILL fit well.
Best,
Jonathan

Bumped! With a busy academic calendar, I had neglected a bump! Oops! I'm happy to answer questions. I'm hoping to go to Ireland for July and if I manage to sell this kilt, perhaps I'll simply buy another one from the same shop in Antrim that's more suitable (I'm 5 ft 8 in tall and this kilt would fit best someone who is approx. 5 ft 9in or 10 in tall).
