    One tip. When wearing a kilt where nobody else will be kilted.....Have an attitude (to yourself) like you own the joint. If you keep looking around to see if you are being looked at....you will look and feel out of place. After a few tries it becomes natural and people will recognize that. Then the questions will start. You end up being the center of everything. Welcome and good luck.

    Welcome! I'm new to Kilting in Public, though I've been wearing one around the house for over a year, myself. My advice would be to walk tall (if you can; I have no clue what kind of surgery you went through). Similar to what others said, I guess.

    Some people glance, absorb the lack of pants, and move on with their day...but to be honest, I think the majority don't even notice. I've rarely had anyone speak to me about the kilt, and when they do, it's always positive.
