Different Cultural Fabric
Last August, Stuart of Houston Kiltmakers posted a blog on their web site that I found most interesting. I have added the link below.
One of my wife's classmates (40th High School reunion) wore an outfit made entirely of Kente fabric. This is a slightly different design than the one Stuart used. I wanted the group to see the results of a suit and compare the product to trews and jackets that are made of tartan. It may be a stretch to state all that plaid or block pattern fabrics can be made into kilts, but free-thinkers will try new things if it pleases them. I give "kudos" to Lady Grey and others that will attempt such adventures.
The former thread of Stuart's is: http://blog.kiltmakers.com/2015/08/a...scottish-kilt/
If you have seen a fabric that you imagine can be used in a kilt, post it here for discussion. Or, we can let this subject fade away into a lovely memory.
