At long, long last, another Kilted Friday participation! Lovat green vest, day sporran without the bangy-bangy tassels, and Irish National 8-yard tank from Rocky and crew at USAKilts (FABULOUS work!), hose courtesy of Steve and gang at Freedomkilts.
Overdressed as all get-out for sitting in the home office all day, but still felt awesome!

Thank you Rigby, KiltedContractor! I'm really looking forward to the planned outfit for this coming Friday, as well! Can't wait to verify how it turns out, since I've only seen the shirt, waistcoat, and tie together draped on the counter at the store. Now I just need some shoes that are slightly more casual than the oxfords, and I'm set for day-wear!

Though I frequently kilt-up on Fridays, today is the first time that I have come anywhere close to an adventure. I wore a great kilt (with modern clothing) for the first time since the cast came off my hand. I wore traditional kilts while it was on because arranging the top part is complicated with one hand. Now the GK has a way of attracting more attention than other types and today was no different in that detail.
There were the usual questions about clan affiliation and the like and the mother of a 5th grader who had just taken up the pipes who inquired about places to get some highland attire. Over all that was pretty common. There was however, one gentleman who had some interesting views.
He started with the regular "What clan?" I told him and proceeded to ask if he had any Scottish or Irish connections. It seems that he is of Irish and Native American decent and is a member of the clan MacTin-foil hat. Yes, after he told me of his tribal connections, he continued on to tell me how he is also descended of Extra Terrestrials. It seems that Highland events, Pow-wows, and most other cultural celebrations and historical reenactments are monitored by aliens who are trying to discover more about their own lost histories. Since they have inter-mingled with our own society, they see studying our cultures as clues to understanding their own.
Fortunately, I've a good poker face and must have seen legitimately interested. He even took the time to show me his membership card for some club that dedicates themselves to the study of such matters.
Keep your rings charged, pleats in the back, and stay geeky!

Now that DOES sound like an adventure, Sir Didymous!
Fortunately, my kilted Friday was far less exciting. Budget PV kilt in Ramsey Blue Modern from McDonald Sporrans, Waistcoat from Historical Emporium. Felt fabulous, like this look, 10/10 would wear again!

Why mock this fellow? Some would think that his ideas are no more fanciful than other rather more "mainstream" institutions and their equally unlikely thinking. Think about it? Each to their own.
Mods, please delete this post if it causes offence. I hope it doesn't.
