I've been in North Texas for 10 years, I've seen 3 kilts in public.
The wife and I were out this weekend for dinner and a business stop. I was wearing a kilt had 3 conversations about in in short of 2 hours as well as an old man with a walker that gave me a head nod and thumbs up as we passed.

I love the kilt and proudly wear it all over the silicon valley. It is my go to attire other than at work. Like most here, many great conversations with all kinds of folks about the kilt. We should hope to be an encouragement to others who may be on the fence. I like wearing the kilt because it is different but not strange, just different. Other than a friend who now wears one occasionally I rarely see others in my area wearing them other than at the games.
PS I am a Utility Kilt guy. No tartan kilts in my closet yet.

I've been living in Texas for 54 years and I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I had seen a kilt worn under ordinary circumstances (not a themed event.) My kilt wearing is mainly to more important or dressier events and essentially every time I will receive compliments; never an unpleasant remark. Keep it up and perhaps you will encourage others. I am happy to say that the kilt-wearing in Austin appears now to be on the increase.

Hello, I live near Montgomery, Alabama and I hv never once seen anyone in a kilt. I have a Bruce "Ancient" wool tarten kilt and wear occasionally to a store or something but hv never seen any other.

I have a pair of light cargo shorts and I find them to be quite comfortable. Just sayin'.
I really should make myself another camouflage kilt. I need to lose 30 pounds to fit into my X Kilt and I could use a "beater" for backpacking and stuff.
