For yesterday’s Kilted Friday, I donned my USA Kilt semi-trad in XMTS tartan. In processing a new resident to the community I manager, she shared how much she had enjoyed living in Scotland. The lady was on the reserve side with a German/Dutch accent and a family name of McCahill.

After work when to the local and toasted the 702nd Anniversary of King Robert’s victory at Bannockburn. A couple sitting with me at the bar; the husband shared his ancestry was Scots Irish and his Russian wife asked about the tartan. We dissected the Brexit referendum results.

A good Kilted Friday.

I've been wearing a kilt every Friday for a good run lately. This week, I happened to be having dinner with my nieces and nephew. My nearly 14-year old niece remarked that she couldn't remember the last time she saw me not wearing a kilt.

Heh, I hadn't paid any attention, but apparently she has been! I also went for a lovely kilted walk before dinner along the Lake Michigan shore. All the usual compliments and positive comments.

Another Kilted Friday, this time back in the Lovat Green vest and Ireland's National tank. New tie, this time, though. Out for dinner with my brother-in-law and niece. Bit of ribbing from him about the kilt, with him wondering if I'm going Irish next year (dressed like a leprechaun.). 'Bout earned him a kick.


About time to give the waistcoat a steaming, now that I look at it. But then, this IS at the end of the day!

Today is a day in History to be kilted, as if you need a reason.

I've pulled my USA Kilts semi-trad in Stewart Black from the armoire.

Let's see what the day brings!

It appears that I have good reason to be kilted when I make my visit to the US Post Office today. I will defy those mentioned in the last line of the "Act of Abolition" and ignore the spite of my enemies.

I took my wife to see Taming of the Shrew at Shakespeare's Globe tonight as a last hurrah on our two week Scottish/English vacation. Wore my Wallace muted that I bought in Edinburgh at John Morrison's. Got a lot of compliments from the Londonfolk! And desperately confused an old Englishman who thought I was Welsh, and wearing it to support the Welsh soccer/football team. I wasn't (but I do support the Welsh, in so far as it's the only sport I can watch here, and I moght as well root for the team that everyone else is), and then had a broef conversation with him about the kilt.

Here is a picture of the outfit, taken at the London Bridge station, which we had to pass through about five times today:



I guess while I'm at it, last (Kilted) Friday, I climbed Arthur's Seat in my angus kilt, which was as windy as you'd expect. Made it to the top though! Fantastic view of Edinburgh. Here's the shot my wife took:



Definitely my best Kilted Fridays yet.

With a Kilt Night with the local Scottish Society, I kilted up today for work in my USA Kilts semi-trad in Malcolm modern. As I was placing some paperwork in a member's internal mailbox, a resident came in and asked what's the occasion?

I said I have a Kilt Night this evening at Park Lane Tavern, it just makes sense to get dressed just once. She laughed and said you always look nice in your kilts. She asked about my Sporran which is a Freedom Carry All, so I showed her all of its nice features.

Later in the morning, a lady who had finished the morning exercises at the clubhouse who noted I was kilted. She shared with me how missed going to Highland Games. I encouraged her to go to the VA Scottish Games coming up on Labor Day Weekend.

A resident was talking to me as I was seated at my desk. He commented on belt buckle and said it was quite good looking. He asked if it was my family clan crest. No, so he learned about this forum. [Please no lectures on wearing a conflicting crest and tartan. ]




Did a inspection of today's cut by our grounds contractor responding to complaints. Waves, smiles and compliments by those whom I encountered.

Afterwards at the office, a real estate agent and her client came to Clubhouse. They had a few questions on the community. The agent commented you are the kilted guy we saw walking through the community. She asked about the stick in my sock and learned about the sgian dubh.

A good day at work. Now off to the local.

This is great. I never need a reason, but now i've got one - 'cuz it's friday!

All you gents look great, and I'm getting so many ideas on how to pair up the kilt with my other duds.

Love the first photo and the tartan! Is that a Southern train in the background? An even rarer sight than a kilt these days
