I have had a couple of those and as a weapon they are a disaster. However, they look pretty good so as an ornament they are fine. The rust can be contained but certainly not removed completely. Clean it up then apply Renaissance Wax to the blade, reapplying as needed. The wax is expensive but a llittle goes a long way and works better than some of the other things I have tried. The baskets on these swords are way too big so if you plan to carry it in a baldric you will probably have to make one yourself or find someone who will do so.

I went to pick it up yesterday but traffic over the Santa Cruz mountains was completely insane, and after spending almost an hour to go about 3 miles, I gave up.
