I'm not a fan of either colour way as both have a palatte in which the shades are tonally too similar; all light or all dark respectively. Old tartans used to balance the two. Here is was is said to have been an original of the Keppoch. It was sold at auction in Edinburgh in 2013.
Structurally the cloth appears to be mid-18th century. This is not the same tartan as the specimen at Moy Hall and the claim that the plaid of this (the Keppoch suit) was left there is probably erroneous. More on the Moy Hall Plaid here.
I don't know the identify of either seller or buyer but would dearly like to track it down to examine it.
