To add some additional context, this was the annual military tug-of-war event held at the Glengarry (Maxville) Highland Games. 12 of the 15 Canadian highland regiments were represented, from Victoria in the West to Montreal in the East. The only units missing were the two Nova Scotia Regiments and one of the Toronto Regiments. For the sixth year in a row, the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa took the trophy. It has been a long time since we have managed to put that many units together in one venue. A great competition and a great way to connect highland soldiers, raising $8000.00 for charity in the process.
The video features most of the tartans still in use within the Canadian Army.
(I am actually in the background of one of the video clips, in uniform.)
