    My Great Grandmother's Kilt

I have a question on storage (I saw that there was a thread on the storage of kilts a while ago, but I thought I might create this thread due to the age of the kilt in question). My family has passed down my Great Grandmother's hand made childhood kilt for generations. My father wore it when he was a child, I'm pretty sure my sister wore it when they were young, and I did as well.

My question is on storage. There really isn't a place in my house where I can store the kilt and its matching vest in any permanent fashion. As I speak it is sitting in a vacuum seal bag in my closet. Is there any better way to preserve it?

One small side note: The kilt and vest are Black Watch from my Great Grandmother's days as a dancer in Edinburgh. I personally used to wear them when I would march in parades with my Dad, when he'd be the one to open the local Scottish Games. Having been given that honor because he was President of the Organization that planned and funded them. I would like to preserve the kilt and vest so that my Nieces and Nephews can enjoy when they are old enough.

Thank for the compliment. Considering how I currently have to store it, the kilt is remarkably good condition; and there is only a small amount of fading of the vest. I'm quite surprised at the continued good quality. Guess that goes to show how well it they were made.
