Sorry I didn't realize this was a one on one thread with USA kilts. Just tryin to help.
To clarify, the is one Smith tartan; the link shows 12 colour variations. It is sometimes called, incorrectly, Hunting Gow. Gow (Gobha) is the Gaelic for Smith and has its own tartan which a good number of Smiths wear as an alternative to what was originally the Smith of Pennylands, a personal tartan.

No worries at all! Anyone is allowed to answer other forum members with info in our section. The only "faux pas" here on Xmarks would have been directing the person to another vendor while they were posting in our subsection of the forum. You didn't do that, so there's nothing to worry about.
