For some reason your pictures don't show up.

I see the 'wealthy' part, Steve, but not the proof-is-in-the-pudding. ;)

It seems that some think I may be able to assist you. If I can, then of course I will. I too cannot see Steve's pictures which would have given us a starting point, so to help me help you, what era are you wanting to know about? 1900's? 1940's? Today? Actually outwardly, in many ways there is not a lot of difference, but there are many when the finer points are viewed. Ask away! You never know I may be able to come up with an answer.

Well for a start look at the first thread( a sticky) in the Traditional kilt section, then at all the other threads there, taking particular note of the thread containing what the SCOTS in Scotland wear. Sadly this website, for its own good reasons, does not allow traditional Scots, in Scotland, to show pictures of them partaking in the very traditional pastime of shooting, in Scotland, sometimes clad in the kilt and appropriate attire which does limit the scope of your search a tad. However there are pictures of kilted fishermen to be found which may help your search and thinking.

I am sending you a PM which you may find helpful.

Recreating an earlier time is Historical Dress. This is obviously at odds with modern dress.

For sure you can put together a hybrid costume which juxtaposes various things anachronistic to each other, but this will look like what it is, a "mashup" as it's called.

I see it all the time! I just spent a weekend at a California Highland Games and such mixing is common. It seems to be an American thing, I don't know why. I didn't see things like that at the Games I attended in Scotland.

For example I saw a number of men wearing 17th/18th century pirate shirts with Prince Charlies (which didn't appear until the early 20th century). And many people wearing Utilikilts (invented recently in the Pacific Northwest) with Renaissance costume.

If an outfit is to have internal consistency you would have to first decide on what time period you're depicting.
