    In my job as a community manager of a gated community I pitched hit this week for a vacationing maintenance man, coming in early to take care of some of his routine task. So when Friday rolled around it was time to be kilted! What better to wear on a hot muggy day in September but my Elkommando from Mountain Hardware.

    Tour guide had a large group come by the doors, as the guides do throughout the day, the particular group from Japan. Many pics with the guy in the kilt ("Scottish skirt"). Alas, none passed on to me for post.

    When Friday becomes a regular kilt attired day, does it still classify for any adventure? Yet, on this chilly first day of autumn as I enjoyed my noon stroll away from the desk;

    one lady stopped me to say it was so nice to see another fellow kilted for work. One of her co-workers wears a kilt practically every day, she said, and

    the teachers and a group of Gr 6 students stopped me to ask if there was any special reason to be wearing traditional garb today (shirt/tie/pull-over). "Just Friday". We all had a little discussion on heritage, family history and celebrating diversity.

    Happy Friday, all

    Sort of.

    If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

    Yes, it does indeed! When one is Kilted there are increased chances for an adventure than being trouserd.

    For yesterday's Kilted Friday I wore my USA kilts casual in Malcolm tartan to the office. One of the residents who was preparing for an event at the clubhouse inquired if I was a piper . A very common question we kilted guys get. I explained to her I was not. And told her about Kilted Fridays. She asked if I knew the director of the Mary Washington Eagle Pipe Band, whom she knew through her church. Yes I did and shared some past experiences with him.

    I took the afternoon off and switched into my Elkommando for the drive to go see my dad. So this kilted Friday will turn into a multi-day of kiltedness. As has the last couple of weekends. Between last week's Welsh Festival and Labors Day weekend's Virginia Scottish Games; kilted Friday goes on and on and on.

    For today's Kilted Friday, I reach far back in my closet my Thompson Grey, USA Kilts casual. Fall is officially here, but its rather humid and warm in Virginny, today. So the lightness and freedom of this casual is delightful.

    A few encounters so far, but no adventures to report.

    Who else is kilted up, today?

    While teaching Earth Science today at school, I'm wearing my Ulster red USA 8-yard tartan.

    Happy Friday!
