I wear a SWK "nightstalker" nylon sporran with my 5.11 TDK's. It's kind of redundant given all of the pockets but I like to at least make a nod to the tradition and frankly I prefer the look. I made a strap for mine from a narrow piece of nylon webbing and two small clips that attached right to the "D" rings on the TDK. I do however, dispense with the rest of the traditional accoutrements.

I would avoid placing a kilt pin in the 5.11 fabric. Even in UtiliKilt poplin it leaves marks.
However, a sporran is a handy feature. I got a Super Sporran at a RennFest. Double flaps, divided main pouch, and a small pocket in the lower flap, leather strap with swivel snaps. Works great for keeping things separated and the small pocket is wonderful for things like bus tickets.

SSB's
I use my Army Special skills badges for my pin. EIB CMB ABN ASSLT SFD PTFNDR any or all look pretty cool IMHO. In a casual setting Tactikilt or TRA Kilt. If I am wearing miniatures on my Jacket in a black tie affair I use a traditional style pin. My $0.02

As I have requested before, if one is going to use work terms, then please have the decency to explain them to those that do not work in the same field. I realised that they were from the U S army s you said so, but I am still none the wiser as to what they mean or if you prefer I will keep asking you questions in bahasa Indonesian, Cheers.

Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Airborne/Assault. Not sure on the last two but I'm guessing Pathfinder and...ummm...Special Forces Diver?
How'd I do, Aquadoc? Surely I got a few right.
