Out if interest Rex, do they have day and evening wedding services in Canada?

Yes, they do, Jock. Canada is a mix of European and Asian culture with American television

OCR...
My thoughts are that the pictures appear to be from the 1950's when much of the world was recovering from WW2. I expect most brides and grooms wore the best they had as did the wedding guests, regardless of the time of day. In addition it was prior to the notorious kilt rental shops and the advent of Bridezilla and her mother dictating all details of the wedding.

About the photos, the first one is James Stewart MP and his bride Peggy.
This perhaps is the same James Stewart MP about whom Wiki says:
James Stewart (1863 – 17 March 1931) was a Scottish Labour Party politician. He was elected at the 1922 general election as Member of Parliament.
Or perhaps not- there were probably quite a few Scottish politicians named James Stewart!
The second photo is said to have been taken in 1950.
I know nothing about the third.
I think these men are in Day Dress because they're doing a daytime activity.
Here in California anyhow the vast majority of weddings are during the day. Yet, men usually wear tuxedos and at Scottish-themed weddings Prince Charlies.
I've told the tale of the wedding I piped for where one side of the family flew over from Scotland for the event, all of these Scots wearing Prince Charlies though it was a daytime garden wedding. (I was the odd man out in my charcoal tweed Argyll.)

Jock, while one can never generalize, I think it is safe to say most North America weddings are Saturday afternoons with an evening reception and dance. Morning weddings are few and far between (although that is the choice my bride and I made). Throughout the years, I have had many people of previous generations note that they were married in the front room of the manse, and that the entire thing was the couple, their attendants and the minister.

The thing is Steve, that the traditional kilt wearer would not describe those pictures as a traditional wedding.

But really Jock. It is no wonder why so many are confused when almost everything you see on the web, even by the shops based in Scotland, post photos like this with a description that this is the height of traditional.
