Is that really the Brown tartan? The colors don't look right to me:

Possibly a matter of photography issues Shaun? The sett looks correct. I believe Sinclare would not steer us wrong.

I'm not doubting Sinclare, but I'm wondering if Sport Kilt's supplier is using the correct thread colors. Seems that they're using green where they should be using a blue?

I've got no dog in this fight, but I have Brown relations and am familiar with the tartan... Just seems off to me.

    Cheers,

Well Shaun, I have only cats and they don't hunt, so you and I are in the same boat. I agree (after getting the magnifier) that the colors seem to be more blue than green. With the red shading so pale, could there be fading of the rich blue color to appear green?

Hope some one jumps at the chance to grab the material either way.

Perhaps the fabric is of Chinese origin. In the northern -- Mandarin -- Chinese language there are no separate words for green or blue, just one word for both.

Any interest? Feel free to make an offer if you're interested in this. It's a great bit of fabric to make something out of too.
