    Off the rack measurements

    Hi Rocky!

Question for your 5 yard kilt specialist(s). I am looking at an American Heritage 5 yard In Stock wool kilt.

I struggle a bit with off the rack kilts because I have, as another kiltmaker once phrased it, a "bit of corporation".

What is the hip measurement on a 42-46.5 In Stock 5 yarder?

I've seen many off the peg kilts with a hip measurement of +4" from the waist, so a 34" waist kilt usually has a hip measurement of 38". This has been my findings based on my own kilt hunting based off my waist measurement, this may change with waist size though.

Our off the peg 5 Yarders have a 6" difference in waist to hips and have no hip strap (to allow for greater or lesser difference).

That's perfect Rocky. My new-kilt change jar is getting heavy. Soon, very soon.
