Saturday August 19, 2017 Topsham Fairgrounds will be my first Highland Games.

Consider going to New Hampshire Games at Loon mountain. They're quite impressive.

I'll second that.
I attended all three days of the New Hampshire Games in 2010 and it was far and away the largest Scottish themed gathering which I have ever seen, whether here in Scotland, in England, in Canada, or USA.
New Hampshire Games is a must do, even if only once in a lifetime.
You live a lot nearer to Loon Mountain than I do so you should take the opportunity to go there.

New Hampshire might have to wait until '18. Got a different trip planned that weekend. Thanks for the heads up about them though. I went to their website. Looks like a lot is happening.
