thank you, I'm glad you like it!
if there'd be interest I'd gladly make more! it's pretty heavy, however, because I used an actual key to make it with.
I've also made smaller pins (the one below is used as a cravat-pin)

May I post a caution please.
A person showing off items that they have made is fine.
People expressing their approval of those items is fine.
But telling a member to expect orders when they are new and perhaps yet not familiar with this forum can potentially lead to a problem.
Many new members are talented and do make their own items However X Marks has discouraged open promotion and advertising here since day one. This is our way of holding the spam at bay and keeping this forum from looking like a mid-Eastern bazaar.
We accept paid advertisements from select companies that have shown a history of reputable, respected and honest dealings with customers. We do not accept advertisements from anyone who does not produce kilts or kilt related products and we ask all those who advertise here to do so on an even playing field with all our other advertisers.
In an attempt to allow individuals who produce just a few items for the sheer fun of making them we have our Registered Hobbyist advertisers category. Registered Hobbyists may post one item per month to our For Sale forum section.
A new member may not yet be aware of how X Marks works. It would be a shame if someone were to be encouraged to sell their items here and run afoul of our advertising policy.
We ask our experienced members to take care in encouraging new members to think that they can expect orders from among our membership.

My family's holiday tradition is not turkey, it's pork roast. Long story.
Here is my Thanksgiving kilt pin

I am again reminded that the rules are for the betterment of the XMarks. I apologize my faux pas. Thanks Steve for setting me straight.

My apologies. I didn't mean to near advertising territories. I am not here to sell anything.

Christmas Present!
My wife found this antique silver pin which depicts a Rowan tree branch, the Muir clan tree. How appropriate!DSCN1685.jpg

I still have a long way to go on my metal casting, yet here are a few I made. I think the dragon is the best casting I have done, yet the thistle stands out more to me. I like how the thistle looks like similar to one found by The Galloway Picts Project http://gallowaypicts.com/wordpress/2...15-april-2015/ that I found out about after I had cast it.

As soon as I saw the image (without reading the text) I was going to ask "Steampunk?" It sure looks like it, but there needs to be some inference of the key.

Tom
