From what I saw, most of the fireballers were weren't kilted (as probably appropriate). On another topic, is there some narrative or descriptive info on the tradition and history of the event? It looks really dangerous for both the 'operators' and the spectators, so it must be a pretty significant tradition.

I am not too sure, but I think the tradition can be reliably traced back to just before the First World War, before that and why, well ..............who knows?
