Alright I have heard stories and tales of how friendly the people are at the bar and to expect to be chatted with Is that true?

Why on earth should they not be friendly? Alright nearly every large town anywhere in the world has a bar that is best avoided, but I doubt that you will venture too far off the tourist path, so go ahead and have fun.

I remember, kilted in Northern Ireland, being accused on the same day of being a "proddy" and a "taig" but that was a while ago now!

I hope our friends across the pond will be relaxed and proud to wear their kilts anywhere in Ireland if they want to. I think I have been kilted in all 32 counties on the island now, or near enough.

Not likely to be a problem in the Republic.
