The Bay of Quinte Tartan

I am interested in this tartan.

The tartan is no longer available. However, Mike Norman a rep for this company informed me that they do not still make this fabric, but it could be produced but only with a 2500 metre minimum order.

I searched the tartan registries and this tartan design seems not to be registered.

This archive contains a sample of the Bay of Quinte tartan, designed by Alex Wilson in 1967 and produced by Trenton Dyeing and Finishing.

I have several questions that XMarkers may be able to help with.
Does this tartan design look familiar?
Is it possible this tartan is just a slight variation of an existing design?

That is a nice looking tartan. Do we know where the Bay of Quinte is, if it is a real locality? Is it in Brittany? But, omg, 2500 metres is the minimum order?? Tell 'im 'e's dreaming! 2500 metres is 2.5 kilometres, which is a bit over 1 1/2 miles for the unmetricated. That is a heck of a lot of wool!

The Bay of Quinte is in southern Ontario. The cities of Trenton and Belleville are lovely waterfront communities that look across the bay at Prince Edward County (the County sticks out into Lake Ontario)
