    Looking for an arisaid or gathered full length skirt for my wife

    I was just married in November to the girl of my dreams. We each have Scottish heritage and I am looking to surprise her with something nice. Where would I find either a fairly priced arisaid (or full length gathered skirt) or someone willing to make one of these from tartan fabric that I can easily provide.

    Technically the Arisaid is the wrap or blanket worn over the skirt and blouse. The ladies version of the Brat or forerunner of the great kilt.

    You might want to consider a tartan screen (plaid) of the type show in Figs 10-12 here - Musings on the Arisaid and other female dress.
