Greetings from a Proud McLeod
I have always been proud of my Scottish heritage, which includes Clans McLeod, Sinclair, McLean, and probably a couple of others. I never expected to become a kilt wearer until I went to a Burns' dinner and was fascinated by the "swinging" tenor and the leopard skin apron worn by the bass drummer. A month later, I found myself at a band practice with a tenor drum in hand. I enjoyed playing with the band for ten years until we disbanded a couple of years ago. The majority of us qualified for AARP, so physical problems and illnesses reduced the band to four pipers and me. I miss the friends, but not the 20 degree St. Patrick's Day and 80 degree Fourth of July parades.
I donated the the drum to a local organization that encourages a love for the arts with children. I've retired my kilts, but I will always be a Proud McLeod. Hold Fast!

I gave it to my son. I'm sure he would let me borrow it.

Well met Bella. Your son will find many games and events in N.C. Also, many of us here are AARP eligible (some participate, I work so I can still earn a vacation) but enjoy thinking and living a youthful life. Glad to have you with us.
