Replacing Day Jacket buttons - which ones

It's a sad state of affairs that even a bespoke tweed outfit will today all too often have artificial buttons, an annoying cost saving short-cut. So it was with the outfit I had made a couple of years ago.

I've recently got hold of two sets of real horn buttons to replace the original ones. But which colour, light or dark, thoughts?

Either set would do nicely Peter, but if it were me, I would go for the top set.

I am in full agreement with Jock. Both would be smashing, but I tend to prefer the lighter colored staghorn.

I have to agree. Any time you try to simulate natural material with plastic, the end result is usually disappointing. This seems to be particularly true when trying to replicate stag buttons. The end result usually ends up looking a bit like an Oreo cookie. I'm glad you were able to find the real thing—real stag buttons are becoming harder and harder to find. By the way, I vote for the lighter antler as well.

The buttons that came with it are fine. Save your money and invest in something else. No offense intended, just my opinion.

Actually I disagree. Oh, and buttons are reclaimed and at nil cost so what's not to like.

Absolutely nothing. I misread your original post - my apologies. I like the top set too.
