On X Marks we simply call this a Kilt Night. There are X Marks Kilt Nights all over the world, many in Texas. Scroll down on the forums page and you will find the listings.
Heck, we don't need an excuse or make a big deal out of wearing our kilts or having a kilt night.

Steve-
I have met a great bunch of folks through X Marks here, and have managed to fall in with a gang that also does not need an excuse to have a kilt night and we do so regularly.
But in looking at the event, there may be a number of folks in attendance who unfortunately have no knowledge of X Marks the Scot, so hopefully this will be a great outreach opportunity to get them over here. And increase the size of our gang.

Oh, Kilt Com sounded like something more than a kilt night.
Never mind, we have those.

Not heard of X Marks, such a travesty could never happen. Shudder the thought.

I will definitely be there. Looking forward to meeting some of you fellows. Dandelions, right? I don't wear a bonnet myself. I'll be in light brown wingtip boots with red laces.

Bamamedic,
As this event is not an X Marks event, and they have said that their crowd may not know about X Marks, you may not see a lot of dandelions. That is a uniquely X Mark thing.
But if you wear one, someone may ask about it. Then you can then mention why you wear it.

That was my point. I'll know fellow XMarkers by the Dandelion, possibly the tartan, or apparently there was a kilt pin at one time? And since I'll have none of those, I thought I would let fellow XMarkers know my fairly unique footwear.
