The web page states it is an event for the pleasure of walk, jog or running for varied distances. There is an entrance fee and the web site is informative on routes and stops.
The Kilt walk is an annual event taking place in four venues on different dates in Scotland.
It has become one of the major charity events in Scotland in recent years . There is a registration fee that covers the administration and all other expenses such as stewarding, police and pit stops for the participants .
In the last couple of years it has been organised by the entrepreneur, Tom Hunter with the additional bonus that you can select your charity and one hundred percent of what you get from sponsorship goes to that charity., So if ever there is a good reason for wearing your kilt all day then this is it.
The walks are graduated into the full walk of 26 miles, the half walk and a family walk of five miles.
First of the season is the Glasgow walk at the end of April followed by Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
Thank you Jimmy. It seems that it is an event that needs all the support going and I have to confess information for the events in the past have passed me by.

The walks are generally sprinkled with celebrities amongst the thousands taking part. In 2014 we had in the Edinburgh walk no less the world's top kilted star, Sam Heughan ( Jamie Fraser from Outlander along with Graham MacTavish)
A group of us up here in Aberdeen are looking at Aberdeen's "Mighty Stroll", 3 miles longer than Glasgow's........but a wee bit better chance of some sunshine (every cloud.........)
