Larger pictures come from more pixels in the dimensions. Don't worry about it, Jock. It is what it is and doesn't much change.
On the flip side, some pictures are way too big and screw up the feed for everything that follows it. In those cases, refer back to my instructions and send the picture to yourself through Outlook E-mail and it gives you the option of making it smaller before you send it.
If you can't... don't sweat it. We can still look at the pictures.

Actually Bill I tried to do the email thing , but could not make it work. In truth I would like to post larger pictures , but not the size that kilted Cabin Boy has posted, more the size that I posted here with photo bucket. But something is better than nothing, so I will leave my addled brain to concentrate on catching fish and hitting moving targets!

Are they sideways on your computer before you upload them?

For anyone using Windows and having issues with phot re-sizing or orientation, take a look at this post. Primarily it was about re-sizing your avatar, but it applies equally to any other picture, the only difference being that the 64kb picture size does not apply. I don't know what the currently limit is for Xmarks pictures using the inbuilt facility but I usually restrict mine to 750kb and they seem to work. Re-orientaion is easy and you can resize multiple photos in batch mode or even join photos together either horizontally or vertically. Sadly Irfanview does not work on Macs.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Well that's rude. Was paying Photobucket a few bucks a year for no advertisements....they never seemed to work quite right anyway. Most of my uploads to PB are still on my remote hard drive. Guess its time to download what I have on there and close things out with those sharks.

A legitimate concern.
I really think the best solution for folks that like to keep buckets of photos online is to register a domain name and and have it hosted at a web hosting service. Domain registration can be had for $10/year and web hosting varies based on your space requirements. $1 per gigabyte per month is about what the sites I own or manage average.
You don't actually have to have a web site proper. You can store images in a folder on the site and reference them by the URL like so...

Or you can wrap the url in [img] [/img] tags like so...

Perhaps I am missing something, or as usual my IT skills are lacking. I try to insert a picture that I select from my iPad, it is shown as selected. I then try to close that window and nothing happens. The JPEG picture selected is smaller than shown in the list.
