    PLEASE no Gillie shirt. They're a costume, not Scottish.

    Try a simple check like this:



    It's much more typically Scottish, and you probably have (or should have) one in your closet anyway.

    haha I do! and I figured most would say that about the gillie shirt since its blackwatch tartan but lighter hose should I shoot for lighter or darker color? (multiple shirts)
    I drink coffee and pretend to know what I am doing.

    Just go to your closet and pick a shirt.

    Then find a pair of hose that color coordinate with the shirt.

    and what every shoes you would normally wear to an event like this.

    The kilt is not a uniform and there is no proscribed accessories. Just what is comfortable.

    And don't worry about matching the colors used in the kilt.
