From Kitchener, Onterio Canada.
Just a quick hello to introduce myself. My name is William (Bill - Though some call me Will), named after my Maternal Grandfather William Fraser. My Great Grandfather, Alexander Fraser came from the Highlands in the 1800's to Nova Scotia. My Dad was born in Edinburgh in 1910, immigrating to Canada in 1922. Being Hardies we don't have a clan of our own, so My Dad was partial to the Farquharsons. I bought my First Kilt about a month ago, but wanted one for longer than I can remember. This is an Utility Kilt, but my Farquharson Tartan Kilt will be the next major investment. I am still working on the finishing of the Accessories for the Utility Kilt. Have the Sporran, and Hose and Flashes. The Kilt Pin and the Jacobite Shirt will be next. Then to save for the Tartan Kilt. I will mostly be reading the other threads, and search the site for answers for questions that I have or will no doubt pop up later.
Thanks for allowing me to join..
Cheers, Bill.

Welcome...
Hi Bill,
Welcome to the XMTS rabble. Some of us started with a utility kilt as you did and then went with a polyvicose (PV) tartan kilt as the next step before going to a wool tartan kilt. PV is a synthetic fabric like what we Yanks call Rayon. It is less expensive than wool but still looks nice and has a swish to it. Check out USA Kilts above and do a search on Farquharson.
