Maybe this is a bit better with deeper contrast.

HoE Roach(2015) with tan linen shirt, brown sporran/belt/shoes and bison hose. Maybe a little too dull. Figured the bison went well with the shirt - should have gone with a different hose to set things off a bit. (tried a pic but the hose come out black)

Will be off to a tailor this afternoon to get measured for trews in the lightweight I have. See if there is enough for waistcoat also.

    Its a good day.

    Kilted Friday, Not!

This Sunday afternoon, The Fredericksburg Scottish Society gathered at a local Pub to recognize William Wallace Day. The Celtic band, Dragonfyre played a number of Scottish tunes for us. I thought it appropriated to don my Scottish Wild Cat tartan Kingussie kilt tailored by @Tartan Hiker (Bill Sanderson). I went casual to wear my Society of William Wallace T-shirt.

Haven't worn the MacDonald in quite a while. So that came off the hangers today to go with a button down linen shirt and brown accessories. The purple hose are a recent addition to hose choice. Rather like them.
    Happy (kilted) Friday.

I ordered my MacKay Ancient Tartan from USA Kilts a few weeks ago. It was delivered last week - and I got to wear it for the first time this Friday. My wife took this pic as I was headed out the door to catch the subway.

    Kilted Concert

Had a great time at a "Doobie Brothers" concert Thursday night. Kilted of course. US Army tartan, green hose and black polo shirt. Had several good comments and one lady who was not going to let me leave without a picture to show her son who also wears kits. Sorry I didn't get a picture that turned out. Doobie' still rock!

Wore my kilt to work for the first time in a month, I had to take it in another 2 inches as the gym work is still having a good effect on my overall body shape. Tan suede shoes, lovat green socks with red flashes, deep purple polo shirt, tan belt and sporran and a short Barbour jacket to finish things off. Sorry no pictures as pretty much same as I have worn in the past, three incidents worthy of note today.

    1. Senior navy officer complemented me on style as normal, he's a really nice chap who always takes the time to compliment me on what I'm wearing.

    2. Lady in the coffee franchise asked what tartan, "Kerr ancient hunting" was my reply, she didn't recognise name so presumed it was non- clan. I explained it was a lowland clan and added some pertinent information, she said it was a really nice tartan and leaned over the counter for a better view. Thanked her for the compliments and left .

    3. Outside in the smoking area ( I know I'm a bad person ) a lady asked if it wasn't too cold and then the question was politely asked " your not a real Scotsman are you"? My reply was " oh I'm definitely a real Scotsman, but as to the question you are asking, I'm both sensible and civilised and the nothing under the kilt option isn't obligatory unless you're in the military". I wasn't offended as it was all a good humoured exchange and opened up the conversation.

Brought the Alberta Modern up a notch with a ceremony to officiate yesterday (Fri). Grey crail and the mink sporran. Will be kilted on all weekend as we officially open the Commonwealth Walkway in Banff, AB. It's basically the only thing I packed for the trip. A mix of business and business casual.
