Hello from Pennsylvania!!!
Hello everybody, I am 20 years old and just recently got my first kilt. It is a solid black pakistani "casual/utility" style kilt but it is a good way for me to test the kilted waters. I made my own sporran but made it as part of a costume and as such it is very rough looking with exposed artificial sinew stitches showing. Looking forward to learning all that I can from everybody on this forum!

Well met Rob. There are enough craftsman/women and folks that make their own items that are very willing to share techniques with you. Glad to have you with us.

Welcome from a Scotsman living in middle England. I haven't ventured in to kilt/sporran making, so am very much in awe of those who have!

Welcome, you for sure NEED a Pennsylvania tartan kilt. This is a casual from USA Kilts in polyviscose.
Well, if the pics uploaded from my computer like they said it would it ain't happenin' where I can see it. Go ahead and check out the tartan on the USA Kilts website.

I was looking at the Pennsylvania Tartan earlier. I think that might be my next kilt. The solid black poly-viscose kilt that i have right now is nice, but definitely very cheaply made and is difficult to find a shirt to go with for daily "kilt-as-jeans" look. I love my PA roots and when i found the PA tartan I almost bought it right away but i need to take some time and save up some more before jumping at another kilt. Also have been looking at a nice Sgian Dubh because I love to collect knives and would really love to save and get my hands on one of the XMTS officer Sgian Dubhs but unfortunately right now I simply cannot justify such purchases.
