Following received from Paul MacDonald, of email that I sent requesting information, I have a very high regard for his work.
Hi Allan,
My thanks for your mail and interest in my work.
In answer to your enquiry, no particular Clan ever had such a thing as a Clan pattern of sword or weapon. There is only one sword I know of with confirmed Macdonald ties which is the original sword of the Captain of Clanranald from the '45, which is in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland.
I can't find any images online at the moment, but an enquiry to the National Museum should yield results. I hope this is helpful for now. If I can be of any further assistance, please do let me know.
All the Best,
Paul Macdonald
