Touting bonnets
Gloria, historicalcaps.net , came through once again filling my order this time with a beautiful Scottish bonnet in woad blue. It's now a shelfmate with a natural gray tam she stitched together for me a couple of years ago. It's a difficult decision deciding which to top off with. Both are tougher than a herd of Highland Cattle, shed rain like a fresh thatched roof, and block wind like a granite wall. If you're looking to top things off with a flair examine the Historical Cap web site.
Gloria made the bonnets for the stars of the Outlander series. I didn't think to ask her about them, but I noted one background bonnet in the series was obviously pieced together so her's must be only those at center stage. Doing them all would have been quite a task as she is a lone knitter, only occasionally requiring help.
I've engaged Gloria to needle me another. It to be in screaming orange to wear when engaged in the chase. Perhaps pics of all three soon.
