All in all I think it’s a good look. Most of us guys start out being matchy matchy because that’s what we do in Saxon dress the only colours we have is tie and pocket square if we use one. Typically our socks match trousers some will wear bright colours or fun socks possibly Argyll pattern that have some colours in common with shirt and tie. In highland attire as we wear it and get more comfortable in it,our hose may get bolder and less matchy .
This is what Steve and Jock and others that are regular kilt wears preach to us. We all evolve it our kilt wearing journey to different degrees. I think in the end it doesn’t matter how we put our outfits together as the rest of the world doesn’t really know how we should look other than what they see in pipe bands.
Once we realize that there is no being incognito in the kilt being bolder in choices gets easier 😀
