First kilt ordered
Well I have finally purchased my first kilt. I can't wait for it to arrive. I ended up getting the casual kilt from USA Kilts in the MacDonald modern tartan. I will post pictures upon arrival.

And so it begins!!!
Now, take a deep breath and curtail any urge to immediately start buying all manner of shirt, jacket, sporran and other accessories. Rarely when we purchase a new pant do we immediately fill up the closet with other things to go with it. Sporran, yes. Hose, yes. But that's about it until you figure out what you already have that goes with the fine looking MacDonald Modern...and as you become comfortable with your style of kilt wearing. Lots of advice to be found here as you know. Best I divined from the threads was "take your time and find quality over quantity for what you know you'll actually wear"

I definitely understand the urge to buy all the things. After ordering the kilt i started looking for all sorts of accessories, Luckily I was able to hold back and have only ordered a belt and buckle so far.

I would have listed a sporran and hose before belt & buckle, since for casual day wear any normal belt if you want to carry something on it or no belt will suffice.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

We're looking forward to seeing it! USAK is a great first choice. They definitely make a high quality item in their casual kilt. I have one in Sterling tartan, as I wanted a grey kilt in their Casual line. I'm pleased with it.

It will probably be fine unless you made a huge mistake while measuring. I'm no kilt expert but I can't imagine a kilt that would be more forgiving in the size department than a USAK casual.Looking forward to seeing it.
