Should I forget about a brown belt and sporran?

Brown belts should be easy to find, here's one from eBay, but virtually every market will have someone selling belts. Check carefully because price is not necessarily an indication of quality.

Wow! You guys have made some great comments and suggestions, thanks to all.I like the look f this one OC Richard suggested, although a bit pricey.mal-2010.jpg
I have looked at the brown sporrans at L&M before but they seemed a little expensive to me.It probably wasn't correct for me to say brown accessories are hard to find,just not as common maybe.For example USA Kilts only offers one completely brown sporran.So far I like the idea of the plain economical military sporran,it seems to dress up nicely too.tweed-jacket-and-vest-7.jpg Emma_Fergus0878-resized_1024x1024-790x500.jpgP.S.I love how the brown brogues look with the outfit, very nice.

Yes, I have been on the lookout too for a nice brown sporran with a brown belt and a brown kilt belt but I really can't even afford $200 so it has been an uphill battle.

I am trying to find a nice one with smooth leather that is relatively plain but not the textured style leather I see on so many of the "regimental" type of plain brown sporran.

I really would want the sporran and its belt to match with the kilt belt to be in color coordination, no need for exact match but close in tone.

Today I ordered the military version from the tartan museum, it was made in Edinburgh by W.E. Scott .I hope it will be slightly better quality than the regulation model.They were about the same price.

The inside of the government contract version looked too much like the Pakistani model I have now.Plus the belt from L&M looks like it would match the one from W.E.Scott perfectly.Hopefully I made the right choice.

Thanks Bruce Scott. That does fit the bill.

Though I keep thinking that those should be cheaper than £65 without shipping and that is at least another £15 which means over $106 USD and that seems like $50 too much for a very basic military surplus item

That's another reason why I chose the commercially made version,with the exchange rate and shipping it seemed too expensive for a surplus item.The total on mine was $109.

If you’re looking for a good quality, inexpensive brown leather regimental sporran, you might consider the What Price Glory sporran. I purchased one of these for my nephew, and I was surprised at what a good value it was for the money!

Thank you, I saw a review on that sporran a couple of weeks ago and ordered one.Unfortunately somehow it was shipped to the UK, so I don't know where it is now.
