Update from London.
Well I wore my kilt to the house of Lords today and I have to say I got nothing but admiration and praise for it. Afterwards I went with my friends to a pub, and a carol singing event and a restaurant, and then walked back to Euston station. It is just such a wonderful boost of confidence wearing it.

did you get any photos along the way?
I was in the U.K. for the first time last year (and climbed Ben Nevis~!) - and was in London kilted in October, though I only have this photo with a strange pentagram building ~

Laurentius,
What a great experience. I'm glad you were appreciated and that you enjoyed it.
Pushka,
I am intrigued by the unusual headdress you are wearing in the pentagram photo. What is it? Is it as warm as it appears?

It's a woolen shawl made of yak wool, my sister got for me as a gift from her hiking in Nepal - quite warm

Considering that yak wool manages to keep the yaks warm in the Himalayas, it must make a warm shawl. I have a (sheep) wool shawl I bought in India that is my go-to winter scarf. And it really keeps out the cold.
Two nights ago I was caught outdoors in unexpectedly cold weather with just a Tilley hat to protect my head. So I wrapped the scarf around my head as a turban and it solved the problem.

Grand Lodge is close to Covent Garden, is open to the public for tours and worth an hour or two of your time. It is often used in films.
Glad the trip to the Lords went well. Called the best club in London.
