It's great to see all the variety on here! With everything I've seen here, I might try using a Disney pin as a kilt pin. This is one of my favorites in my small collection:

You might recognize it as Jiminy Cricket's badge from Pinocchio.

This is my old kilt pin, an old Miracle dirk pin I bought off of ebay.

And this is the beauty that replaced it. It's sterling silver and was a Christmas present from the wife.

Both are very nice, hope you have two kilts so that you can still display both of them.

I’m using this snowflake pin on my Sport Kilt in “Big Blue” tartan:

I liked the dirk because it was a way to still have a “weapon” in jewelry form.

But I really love the detail of the thistle though. Especially the thorns. A lot of thistle jewelry is so smooth and having run into thistles at work (there are several invasive varieties here), I must object to that characterization !

They’re only marginally less painful than cholla.

Only the one kilt now. We’ll see what the future holds.

    A recent acquisition:

Possibly a Robert Allison design, made by Shipton & Co in hallmarked silver.

Both of those pins are very nice......I sometimes see pins here, from collections that should be in a case, they are so good looking, perhaps that is how they are kept when the kilt is not in use. It would be a shame to keep them where they can't be seen......in my opinion

I’m if the same position. Use it or lose it!

The silver one is the working pin now until such a time as I get another kilt. Then the brass one will be on my knock about kilt.
