Robert Burns Celebration in San Diego

I wanted to make a quick post about the upcoming 5th Annual Robert Burns Dinner being hosted at the San Diego Scottish Rite Center in Mission Valley in San Diego. We use this event as a yearly gathering as a fund raiser for the Scottish Rite's Childhood Language Center. There is a traditional Scottish meal with a silent auction and plenty of haggis for everyone!

there will probably be a wee dram of the spirits too!

It is being held on Saturday, February 3rd at 6pm. Tickets are $30.00 per person and can be purchased from the Scottish Rite Center office located at 1895 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego, Ca. 92108. Their phone number is 619-293-4888.

To what level of formality do folks tend to dress to this?

You will see people wear anything from the Prince Charlie to Argyll Jackets, which is what I wear with a clan tie. Some of us get pretty gussied up, I prefer to keep it simple! But the Argyll jacket is perfectly fine and to my likes.

I have a quick update for the Robert Burns Night Dinner we are hosting in San Diego. The doors open at 5pm and If you're having dinner tickets are $30.00 and if you're just wishing to stop by and enjoy the festivities and socialize tickets are $15.00, and they can be purchased at the door.

I wanted to show off some pictures from our Robert Burns Celebration in San Diego on Saturday night. We had a fantastic time and well over 200 in attendance. We use the night to celebrate the Bard and also to support the Child Language Center that the San Diego Scottish Rite supports.
