It’s not loud. A wee bit red for my liking, but it’s the wearer’s call not for anyone else to criticize. Truth be told, it doesn’t seem to bother the badger, at all.

Actually, I don't find it too awful!

The vest is a nice touch, but with the jacket it overpowers the senses. For me, it would really need a contrasting jacket or vest. Then again, I have a 3-piece corduroy suit...

Stellar. Really, the tailors nailed it.
I've fancied a combo myself.

Love the combo! I see a tartan waistcoat to match my Ireland's National kilt in the near future. Thank you for the inspiration!!

I love it!
I've lost a lot of weight and will need to get a new kilt. I'm planning to order from USA Kilts, since they have my tartan in 13 oz weight and I think that will be more practical when I'm back in Florida. So I've been tempted to go all in and get the vest and jacket, too. My tartan is Boyd, so it is similarly red, green, and bold.
Wear it with pride.

Yes! @RockyR , well done! As always. Being warned, I had my sunglasses on when I opened the
thread, so, thanks for the warning. Anyone who thinks it might be too much has not seen the MacGregor with his wife,
both in tartan; he in three-piece suit as yours, she in long skirt and jacket. They look great. I might not choose it for my
closet, but they look great. As do you.

A bit bright for my taste, but still a great looking outfit. Can't go wrong with anything from USA Kilts.

Whatever one may consider "done" or traditional, the one thing that most highland wear has is that it looks smart in all sorts of different combinations and this is no exception, well done Rocky.
I see lots of photos of people wearing formal accessories, especially belts and sporrans, with kilts worn casually and undoubtably the result can look smart, just a touch impractical on a daily basis. Although in a lot of instances they are only dressed for the photo, I have also come across real life examples, on special occasions, among Scots living locally to me.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
