    Highland Grey Philabeg

Just got my new kilt today. It is a wool blend. Rocky correct me if I am wrong about that. I really like the feel of the material This is my first custom-sized kilt(others are Stillwater). It does seem that allowing for the hip size does help during sitting. I'm sure I will post more when I spend some more time with it. But I suspect there will be another USA Kilt in my future.

Here is me with my new "Real Men Wear Kilts" shirt and new kilt.

Here is a close up so you can see the tartan better.

It looks great on you, Will! Show us the back! Someone wrote on XMARKS that good kiltmakers can line up the tartan (the illusion of straight lines from pleat to pleat). I'm just interested in seeing how my kilts compare to other kiltmakers who sew down the hips the full 7 to 8 inches. You said you also have a Stillwater. Lets see some pics! I haven't seen too many of them in person.

In the FYI Category... That was the VERY LAST of our "highland Grey" tartan. The blend on that particular tartan is 35% wool, 65% Rayon.

I know you get to see mine in person from time to time, but here are some casual pics that show me from the back wearing your philabegs.

This is as bad as they ever look, as they have been worn all day before I get out for some fun at night.

The other guy is my buddy, Mario, who has now resigned himself to wear his Victory kilt at least once a week socially.

    And the other one...

Notice also I have a severe pooching problem due to my figure. A sporran strap makes this go away but causes other problems that I can't live with. I'm going back to the chain (and pooching) until I can try something else. Maybe a sporran belt would be slightly less pooching.

    Rocky,
I have a picture of a Black Water and Black stillwater kilt in my personal gallery. Check it out.

Glad I didn't wait longer to get the Highland Grey, or I would have been too late. As you mentioned, since it is a wool blend, it will need to be dry-cleaned. I hope to keep future kilts to waskables. I am talking to friends about going out Sat. night to hear a band. If I do, I plan to wear this kilt. The friends are women and they will be in pants.

I will post a picture of the back when I get a chance.
