Thanks, all!
After seeing my conundrum in written format and thinking on it some more and taking your thoughts into consideration, I have decided on the PV kilt for the feis. I even told my wife that this is how it will be, regardless of what she says.......as long as it is ok with her. She chuckled and gave me her permission... I mean approval... well, I reckon both are correct.

Yes and yes
Actually, generally, I think the main purpose of the fellow at these sorts of functions is to help make the gal look great so whatever complements her outfit is the best way to go.
At a time like this one must ask themselves, 'WWJDD"

My personal opinion is that you're worrying too much about what to wear given that you will be accompanied by your wife. "Men are invisible in the presence of a beautiful woman."
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

My wife rolls her eyes at me when I say this. Even tho it is 100% true.
She is a great fan of Kilts, so in that regard, I pick which ever one, and she's okay with it.
