    Kilt hose for giants

I may have the yearly award for odd questions wrapped up with this one. We're attempting to assemble presentable formal wear and running into one issue.
My 18 year old son, a college football offensive lineman, is 6'7" 315Lbs. and is a dedicated power lifter and strongman competitor.
He wears U.S. size 16 EEE shoes. We have to have his cowboy boots custom made to fit his calf muscles.
Needless to say, the kilt hose I've found so far have not been available in the sizes needed to make him presentable in a formal kilt situation. We are in desperate need of larger size hose.
Can anyone recommend a retailer that might carry such an item? I'd prefer to NOT break the bank but any option will be considered.

I am also interested in this. I'm 6'5" with 13EE US shoes and the largest hose I have found seem stretched when I wear them. Some brands of wide or EE shoes are not wide enough for me. I have considered contacting a sock maker and a cobbler a few times yet so far have not.

House of Cheviot make a line of hose for larger calves, the Harris line. They should be available from one of our vendors or on amazon or eBay!

    $50.00 per pair? Wow!
I've never had to consider putting a pair of socks in my will. LOL

You might try to find a local knitter.

The House of Cheviot are one of the X Marks advertisers. Their Logo may be found on the bottom banner.

They have their own dedicated forum section where you can contact them directly, ask questions and make comments.

If you need custom hose I have a hand cranked Sock knitting machine and have been able to fit Highland athletes with up to 24" calves.

Choose from among 12 stock colors.

Chose colors to complement the rest of your outfit if you wish.

All one color or mix leg and cuff color.

You may specify the type of ribbing to the leg and custom cuffs are available.

They'll go up to about 24 inch calves. I wear them myself...and my calves are like tree trunks.

They are well worth the money.

IIRC, the HOC website has the Skye line instead of Harris, but it appears to be the same thing.

How long are these hose? I find that most socks and hose are stretched in length with the heel to toe measurement made to be about 2 or 3 inches shorter then it is on my feet and my toes poke out the front of the hose/socks in a month or two due to the stretched length.

I have tried knitting my own hose and have found that I should stick to leather and metal while leaving sock knitting to others.
