Yes of course.
In Scotland, the standard dicing that you buy in kilt shops is red/white/black! If I remember correctly, this was the colour of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders!

No, that is the dicing of the 42nd Black Watch. The 93rd A & S had white and red only dicing:

Oh yes, that is right. It is sometimes hard to remember what dicing belongs to what regiment. Tell me, do you have any diced bonnets?

Cheers.
Yes, In addition to plain examples, I have a number of Robert Mackie diced balmorals and glengarry bonnets in civilian colors, as well as regimental versions.

I have a plain black Balmoral. I might get a plain black Glengarry. But never diced.

Mind if I ask where you came by that? It’s very nice.

Diced Band
It can't be ignored that some sources, including the Scottish Tartans Authority, says the dicing dates well before the union of Scotland and England even took place.

Interesting thread.
When I first started getting into highland dress in my late teens I was given much misinformation. I bought a plain glengarry when I joined a color guard because I needed a hat and was told that dicing was for military or veterans. I also changed the torrie over to blue simply because I liked it better.
I later wore that same glengarry with a variant of a firefighter's uniform occasionally, despite that being more or less paramilitary. For occasional use I never bothered with a second cap. I have since thought about making a better version of the firefighter's uniform and have thought of dicing on a new glengarry. Although I see may excuses I could use like not being a piper, or being part of a uniformed service, ect.
From this thread I see that no one would be able to dispute any of the common theories.

Mine are regimental. I collect Militaria in addition to supplying my piping and Highland wear attire.
