I have kept the basting stiches in because I am going to be travelling with the kilt and want the pleats to stay in the best shape until then. But you can get a good idea of what it looks like. I took Peter's original suggestion and had mine pleated to alternating pivots, so, blue tramlines on one pleat and red tramlines on the other and so on. I think it works very well!

Here are the other kilts and pleated versions, one pleated to blue tramlines, one pleated to red tramlines and one box pleated.

Really great photos .....thanx for sharing them......I was wondering why the pleats didn't hang straight down...then I noticed the basting was still in place (thanx for the explanation)......I bet it will swish wonderfully for ya as well......cheers!

Agreed! Thank you for suggesting it all those months ago. I really do think that the box pleat is very cool though and Paul did such a great job with it... I will have to try that for my next tartan from you!

And thanks Terry, I can't wait to get the basting out and to really let this kilt show itself off.
