Tartan Bowties?

I've found I like the effect of a tartan necktie, and have been wearing a matching necktie with my Isle of Skye kilt. However, I'm more a bow-tie person, but I haven't been able to turn up a source of Tartan Bowties in my seraching. Does such a lovely creature exist? Where might it be found?

I also have a tartan bow tie from Scotweb. Many of the popular tartans (Royal Stewart, Black Watch, and the like) are often available in silk from vendors who regularly sell bow ties (Brooks Brothers, Beau Ties Ltd., Bow Tie Club, etc.). I've owned a few of these over the years, too.

I would agree with kingandrew, if you like a particularly neat bow tie (as I do), I do find that the wool variety do not tie and sit as well as their 'normal' neck tie contemporary. The silk versions, although more costly, do tie far better (in my opinion).

I prefer the look of the wool with wool, over the sheen common with silk. The silk do tie a bit more smoothly, but I've a few wool and am not troubled by them. Thanks for the heads up though!

....and that what it is all about! Personal choice, and individuality my friend. Don't get me wrong, I have and use wool (normally day wear), but for formal, personally, I prefer silk. Enjoy!
