Late posting
Hey folks-
I haven’t had a chance to post my new kilt yet, received it at the end of last month from Rocky at USA Kilts. 8 yard 13oz Wool ancient Mackay. They crew at USA Kilts knocked this out for me in just over 2.5 weeks from time of order! Previously I had a crappy Pakistani acrylic kilt that I purchased on eBay. This wool kilt is 2000 times better and while a bit heavier much easier and more comfortable to wear!
Anyway, any advice let me know! My mother is knitting me some custom hose in a few colors and the wife is knitting me some garters so the flashes will be history soon.

Great kilt. Now, how do I get your wife and mother to make me special items for my ensemble? I wish I had it that good.

Nice looking kilt! If anything, I'd bring the hose up a bit and the sporran down.

I would disagree... I think both are fine... but we all have our personal style often based on our bodily shape.

Not entirely sure how body type comes in to play. I suggested bringing the sporran down because when worn that close to the belt, the ball on top of the cantle frequently clips the bottoms of the buckle. As for the hose, he’s a little low on the shin, so his very nice knees aren’t quite center-frame.
But, as you noted, it is subjective. And hey, you’re the mod.

I'll split the difference. I think the sporran height is just fine, but might bring the hose up just a wee bit.

Beautiful tartan and a lovely kilt!
(Maybe one of these days you'll come over to the Dark Side- heavyweight tartan!)
