The Modern Arasaid?
I have a question for the women in this forum. Do Scottish women wear the arasaid in modern times like the kilt? I am Scottish myself, I live in Scotland, and yet I never see women in Glasgow City Centre walking about in Arasaids nor do I see Arasaids/female Highland Dress/female Highland Dress components being sold in the kilt shops.
So, has the Arasaid survived like the kilt has? Do Scottish women still wear them? Do women find it fashionable to wear Arasaids like men do with kilts?

In the sense that the arisaid changed over time and that it morphed into a tartan screen or shawl then yes, it is still worn albeit not often as part of modern business or social attire..

It was a term used in the late 18th and early 19th century for what we would call a shawl today.
