Geez Hamish! You look like you're ready to hop on a Harley-Davidson and head to the Pub for some skull cracking!!!
Looks tough enough to me!

I have never owned a motor-cycle, Jimmy, at least not one that YOU'd call a motor-cycle! Back in the 1960s, for a few years, I went everywhere on Vespa scooters (and yes, even wore my kilt on them when going dancing!), but that was as close as I ever got!
As for the "Skull cracking": if that means what I think it means, I am saving it for Vancouver next August 6th!

Sorry Casey, but no!
I do have a tweed cap somewhere and probably last wore it some 20 years ago when taking the dog for a walk, in the snow on a dark night! Hats just do not suit me and, in any case, I find them in general to be confining and uncomfortable.
The only hat I'll wear and not kick up too much of a fuss about is a straw Panama - but I don't really like that. No, nature intended me to be uncovered on top, and so that's how I like it!

response to UnionKilt test drive (or Hamish looking butch)
A fine looking kilt!
I was thinking about the Riverkilt post-is UnionKilts a new company in Wales? And if so, what are the implications for a "Welsh Kilt Revival?"

Tim, I'd not expect that Union Kilts in Wales will have a huge impact on such a revival. This company, is making only contemporary/alternative kilts in leather, camouflage, denim, etc. Whilst their designs are slightly different, they are not very dissimilar to the kilts currently available from many North American kiltmakers. Of course, those of us over here not only like to support our own manufacturing companies, but we would also make considerable financial savings by doing so!!
By "Welsh Kilt" I assume you to mean Welsh tartan kilts, because Welsh kilts (Cornish kilts, Breton kilts in France and Irish kilts) are tailored exactly as are Scottish kilts - only the tartans or solid colours used indicate the Country! There are some very attractive family tartans in Wales and there are specialised kiltmakers there too. www.welsh-tartan.com being one of them.
Derek is 'our man' when it comes to Welsh kilts, or "Cilts" as the Welsh spell it! Maybe he'll come up with more information for you.

response to Hamish post
Actually, I had assumed that Derek meant traditional cilts when his posts mentioned support of a "Welsh Kilt Revival". I expected the cilts to look like the ones from the link.
It occurred to me that, if there is a revival of traditional cilts, would there also be a parallel popularization of the new variants/versions/derivatives?

I love you Ham!
Wow! Thanks for a GREAT site. This crusty ol' Scot has some Welsh blood too...gonna have some new additions to my wish list soon!
Imagine the fun of wearing a Welsh kilt and being asked if I'm Scottish then explaining my Welsh heritage...visions of puzzles looks...
